I bought this umbrella just before visiting Scotland. We have stayed there about 7 days. The weather was ok but it caught us when We were trekking . All the sudden rain and wind , luckily I was carrying the umbrella. The wind was very strong . I wasn’t sure that the umbrella could survive. It did. We were almost top of a very high hill . I have had this umbrella for well over a year or more now and in that time it has stayed strong against the wind the only issues I have had with it is water is leaking through the canopy and getting me wet when it’s supposed to keep me dry and the joints are slowly getting rusted x

I have 2 kids and we broke so many umbrellas already I stopped counting them… And all of them claimed to be sturdy but after the 3rd use, there is already something wrong… Either it close mechanism or something else brakes. BUT after I bought Royal walk really big umbrella I don’t have such problems!Actually several really heavy rains happened right after I bought it and it acted GREAT! The last time I had to take my kid to kinder garden and it started pouring outside while I was driving. When I stopped not really close to the garden I opened the umbrella and took my little girl and she was carrying the umbrella. Even though we had to walk more than expected we arrived dry in the garden.The best thing about the umbrella is that it has a 2 YEAR WARRANTY! But with its 16 ribs and great working mechanism, and the wooden handle I don’t think I am going to need it!

I’ve never seen an umbrella with so many spokes – this (as promised in their ad copy) is indeed a very strong umbrella.I have used it in high winds with no issues at all and it is a really good size for two people sharing in the rain.Also comes with a handy case with a strap so you put it over your shoulder when it isn’t raining.RecommendedDownside: Makes me look posher than I actually am as this is oddly elegant for an umbrella 😛

Update.Finally used this umbrella in the rain and it is excellent. Very large, keeping all the rain away, and feels very robust in the wind. If you’re looking for a great umbrella, this is it!Replacement arrived today, less than a week after the original. That was delivered bent by Amazon, and Royal Walk customer service have been excellent in resolving an issue not of their making – can’t recommend them enough.Will add to this review when I’ve had a chance to try it in the rain, but looks very sturdy.

[Original review 3* – upgraded to 5* ] The first one that arrived was bent at the end, the tube leading to the foot being crumpled and distorted (probably a packaging issue). I sent it back and bought a replacement with the refund. The shaft of the second was curved at the end (see pictures), veering off to one side. Looks like was made incorrectly. Also the foot (bung) on the end kept falling out.[Update] After posting the review, customer services got in touch within a day, asked for pictures and offered free replacement without the need to return the second damaged umbrella (saving a lot of faff for me). The replacement arrived promptly and is good. I already liked the product (hence original 3* review, and why I persisted), and I am impressed and delighted by the customer service, so upgraded the review from 3* to 5*.

This is no ordinary umbrella, this is the type of umbrella that you buy and you can rely on when it rains and it is windy. This is a good quality product that that does not bend in the wind and being so large (for me it works perfectly as I am 6″ tall), it covers your body so you will not get wet on the sides or back. The many ribs contribute to the sturdiness of this umbrella. On occasion I though a high gust of wind would invert it, as has with other umbrellas I have owned, instead I had to hang on contemplating Mary Poppins moments and watching as the ribs flexed and coped amiably. Did wonder if a vent at the top would help with that. Very satisfied with it as is the wife. The canopy is large enough to shield us both under what she calls an um-zebo. (umbrella-Gazebo)

A few problems, but great customer service fixed them
[Original review 3* – upgraded to 5* ] The first one that arrived was bent at the end, the tube leading to the foot being crumpled and distorted (probably a packaging issue). I sent it back and bought a replacement with the refund. The shaft of the second was curved at the end (see pictures), veering off to one side. Looks like was made incorrectly. Also the foot (bung) on the end kept falling out.[Update] After posting the review, customer services got in touch within a day, asked for pictures and offered free replacement without the need to return the second damaged umbrella (saving a lot of faff for me). The replacement arrived promptly and is good. I already liked the product (hence original 3* review, and why I persisted), and I am impressed and delighted by the customer service, so upgraded the review from 3* to 5*.

The first one of these that I purchased had a roll pin missing from one of the lifting ribs so basically one of the short arms just flopped about. I returned it for a refund. But on researching various models around I decided to give this one another go hoping that it was just a one off fault. The next one arrived and of course I checked all the roll pins which seemed to be fine on this new one. I am not a big fan of roll pins and prefer solid rivets. I understand why roll pins are used in order to keep the weight down. This being a large umbrella obviously benefits from reduced weight.I find the umbrella just slightly too long to act as a walking stick but again that is a trade off for having such a large canopy. The large canopy is exactly what I was looking for so no argument there.The fabric appears to be of a good quality and obviously has a waterproofing quality as the water beads quite well.The automatic opening also works quite well as does the manual closing latch which engages easily. A quick spin and most of the rain water shakes off.When extended the fabric is tight and covers two people comfortably. I can’t really comment on the wind capability because what little wind I experienced did not seem to be a problem even though it is a big umbrella.Overall a good buy

It is a well put together umbrella, but there’s nothing extraordinary about it. I had hoped there might be something a little more innovative in terms of materials or design features, it wasn’t cheap, after all. But all the components are basically the same as have been in umbrellas for a long time now, some of them are weak points that will, in my experience, fail in certain circumstances, but I don’t know what the solution is. Yet. It’s got a two year guarantee, which is some comfort.

The increased number of spokes means that it is firm and protects well against wind and rain. One disadvantage of this is that if it is very windy it can be hard to hold on to. The handle is wooden and nice but would prefer something sturdier in the handle. Nonetheless it is an excellent umbrella for the price. You’d need to spend considerably more for minimal upgrades in luxury. You won’t find anything at this price which works better.

A beautifully crafted umbrella that is a pleasure to use and look at too. We were tired of large flimsy umbrellas that fell apart in the slightest gust of wind, so decided to invest in something that would stand up to the wind and rain. We go out walking every day, regardless of the weather, so a large umbrella is a must. We are very pleased with the solid structure of the umbrella and the thick waterproof covering that easily covers and protects the two of us. A tiny drawback is the weight after carrying it for some time, but this is the trade-off for having an umbrella that can stand up to our blustery weather; it may be worth thinking about if you are bit fragile though. I would strongly recommend this product if you are looking for a sturdy and reliable product that looks as if it will last for many years to come so well worth the investment.

My pitiful travel umbrella which could neatly fit inside my winter coat pocket broke due to strong winds and I decided it was time to transition to a real umbrella seeing as I walk 2 miles to and from work every day and naturally do not want to get wet, especially since it rains a lot in England. This umbrella is massive, I’m relatively short at 5’4″ and very slim, this keeps me well protected all around, I no longer have fear of getting wet walking to work even if it is pouring down really bad. If the wind is really strong sometimes I do have trouble trying to control the umbrella, but that’s natural physics, right? I expect this umbrella will stand the test of time because it is very durable. Additional points for style with the wooden handle giving a more mature middle class look.

Oh God, I seriously cannot fault thus umbrella! Besides, just for no longer having to listen to my mom’s nagging ( whose little tiny rubbishy umbrella I apparently, to no knowledge of my own, threw away last year!!!! Als ich in London gelebt und gearbeitet hatte, hatte ich mir dort einen günstigen Regenschirm gekauft, der diesem sehr ähnlich war. Leider konnte ich diesen nicht mit zurück nach Deutschland holen und habe mir jetzt nach einigen Jahren wieder einen großen Regenschirm gekauft.Grundsätzlich finde ich die Kombination aus Regenschirm und Gehstock echt praktisch und es ist auch ein Hingucker, wenn man damit unterwegs ist. Optisch ist der Schirm wirklich super und die technischen Ideen, bis hin zur Tragetasche sind sehr praktisch. Kurz um, der Regenschirm ist leicht zu bedienen, hält auch stärkeren Regen ab und sieht gut aus.Ich habe nur folgendes Problem: Mit einer Hand wird der Schirm schnell schwer und pendelt ohne das ich es will etwas hin und her. Er ist für mich (1,76, m) schlicht etwas zu groß. Auch im Stadtgetümmel ist es etwas unpraktisch, da ich zu vielen Dingen ausweichen muss, als das er im Gegensatz zu einem kleinen Schirm wirklich etwas bringt. Er ist im Vergleich auch höher, sodass ich mehr Bäume streife, als sonst.Am Stadtrand oder auf Ausflügen ist die Größe aber unschlagbar und wenn man sich zu zweit darunter stellt und beide den Schirm halten ist das Problem auch dahin.Ich empfehle also sich genau zu überlegen, ob man den Schirm in der Stadt wirklich nutzen kann. In meiner Stadt (Berlin) habe ich damit einige Probleme und greife doch lieber zum kleinen Handtaschenschirm und ob man “genug Kraft” hat, den Schirm auch längere Zeit zu halten.Die Instandhaltung / Reinigung ist kein Problem. Nach dem Einsatz an einem trockenen Ort einige Stunden stehen lassen, ggf. die Metallteile prüfen und säubern und dann wieder wegstellen. Das Holz und Metall wirkt so, als würde es einiges aushalten und der Starkregen und die Stürme in 2019 haben bislang nichts verbogen.

Oh God, I seriously cannot fault thus umbrella! Besides, just for no longer having to listen to my mom’s nagging ( whose little tiny rubbishy umbrella I apparently, to no knowledge of my own, threw away last year!!!! Really???), I would give this one 20 🌟! No longer will I have to stop at every brollies stand in supermarkets, when I’m pushing a trolley of food to my car, but she accidentally on purpose remembers that “precious”umbrella, fails to choose one amongst the umbrellas on offer and naggs all the way home about it. Having owned/used various umbrella types in my lifetime, I can honestly say this is the best. Collapsible ones are great for saving space but aren’t particularly good at keeping you dry in a downpour. Golf umbrellas are great for two of you but, well, look a bit naff if you’re not on a golf course.The Royal Walk umbrella is light enough to carry, especially in its own case with shoulder strap, opens easily at the touch of a button and is plenty big enough to keep me and my wife dry or, if we’re pushing our grandchild in a pushchair, keeps most of the rain off us all. You can see the quality of this brolly, the fibre ribs are very close together and flexible, which will obviously make it more durable especially in windy conditions, they are also firmly attached to the canopy. The canopy is of a decent size, will shelter two without being a thorough nuisance to other pedestrians. The handle is of good quality and firmly attached. So i researched the best most strong and bigish umbrella – and royal walk was clearly my answer. really solid umbrella – looks really good and is just really stong and feel very safe with it. looks very smart and classy i think. But what really stands out is the sellers (Primazon) costomer service. My umbrella broke – was still usable but not perfect. i think the breaking might of even been my fault – but not sure… i emailed them as i know it came with a warranty and told them this – and they sent me a new one for free and let me keep the old one aswell! Emma form Primazon was the most helpful person ever – sooo easy to deal with and i was just blown away by the costomer service! it literally was better than some of the most poshest and most expensive designer brands!! i am soooo greatful! thank you!! My pitiful travel umbrella which could neatly fit inside my winter coat pocket broke due to strong winds and I decided it was time to transition to a real umbrella seeing as I walk 2 miles to and from work every day and naturally do not want to get wet, especially since it rains a lot in England. This umbrella is massive, I’m relatively short at 5’4″ and very slim, this keeps me well protected all around, I no longer have fear of getting wet walking to work even if it is pouring down really bad. If the wind is really strong sometimes I do have trouble trying to control the umbrella, but that’s natural physics, right? I expect this umbrella will stand the test of time because it is very durable. Additional points for style with the wooden handle giving a more mature middle class look.

Der Schirm ist besonders hochwertig verarbeitet! Ein edler Herren Schirm, der in jedem Fall groß genug ist, 2 Personen ohne Probleme vor Regen Schutz zu bieten. Insbesondere in Schwarz mit dem dunklen Holzgriff ist dieser Schirm sehr elegant. Allerdings sollte man sich im Klaren sein, dass die Größe des Stocks für kleine Personen ungeeignet ist! Das Stockmaß beträgt 97cm. Das ist auf jedenfalls deutlich höher als die Standard Maße von 83 bis 86 cm. Dahingehend ist der Schirm in der Handhabe, insbesondere als Gehstock ausdrücklich nur für sehr große Personen angenehm. Ich musste ihn daher zurück senden. Das war der einzige Minuspunkt.

Ich habe den Regenschirm bestellt, und war erstmals zufrieden. Er wirkte robust und hochwertig. Die Sparren sind recht stabil und brechen wohl nicht so leicht. Anfangs merkte ich jedoch schon, dass der Schließmechanismus recht locker sitzt und der Regenschirm sich leicht auch von selbst öffnet. Nach knapp 3 Wochen normalem Gebrauch, ist jedoch der Ring am unteren Ende abgefallen. Dies führt dazu, dass das gesamte Spannwerk des Schirms nach unten rutscht und somit der Regenschirm nutzlos ist. Dieser Ring hält nicht mehr und fällt ständig ab.

Entra acqua da tutte le chiusure!!! All’interno gocciola in continuazione. L’acqua non entra da un punto particolare ma entra ovunque, lungo tutte le cuciture. Non mi è mai capitata una cosa così con nessun ombrello, nemmeno con il più economico. Purtroppo lo ho usato per la prima volta solo dopo alcuni mesi dall’acquisto. Non so se ora posso restituirlo. Der Schirm ist sehr groß, das Wasser perlt daran gut ab und sieht er auch sehr stilvoll aus.Leider ging der Schirm nach dem 5x öffenen kaputt da der Schirm oben nicht richtig gehalten hat und somit die Stange runter rutsche. Dies ließ sich auch nicht mehr nachträglich befestigen.

Die Regenschirme sind sehr schön, groß und ich bin vollauf zufrieden. Einen Wehrmutstropfen gibt es dennoch! Ich habe zwei Schirme bestellt und auch erhalten. Geliefert in Z W E I Kartons ! Jeder Karton war so groß, das mindestens zehn Schirme, bzw. im zweiten Karton 20 – 30 Schirme Platz gehabt hätten.Der überschüssige Platz in den Kartons wurde mit reichlich Füllmaterial ausgefüllt. In diesem Fall 15 Meter x ca. 80 cm. Dies sind mal eben 12 m² Papier!!!

Echt ein Spitzenprodukt, eine Tasche mit Umhänge Riemen ist auch dabei. Bei starkem Wind klappt er nicht wie viele andere um sondern behält seine Form. Die Tropfen perlen schnell ab, zum Trocknen muss man ihm aber etwas Zeit lassen. Wenn ich noch mal einen Regenschirm benötige oder einen verschenken will dann nur den.

Wir haben uns drei Schirme bestellt (1x Groß mit T210 “weniger Rippen”, 1x Mittelgroß mit T210 “weniger Rippen” und 1x diesen hier, also Mittelgroß mit T190 und “mehr Rippen”.Der Regenschirm selber ist schön. Er scheint sehr stark aufzuspannen, weshalb ich ihn gerne behalten hätte. Leider zeigt sich, dass der Stoff gegenüber dem T210 Regenschirmen nicht annähernd so schön abperlt, wodurch er länger zum trocknen braucht. Daher geht er wieder zurück und die anderen beiden bleiben bei uns.Also bitte das Produkt mit T210 und eventuell mehr Griffigkeit am Schlitten + wertigeren Verschluss und er landet wieder im Warenkorb.

Habe diesen Schirm zum Verstauen im Auto gekauft, um damit z.B. den Weg vom Parkplatz zum Büro zu nehmen.Leider musste ich den Schirm zwei mal zurück schicken, da er kleinere Beschädigungen aufwies.Dabei muss ich aber das überaus entgegenkommende Vorgehen des Verkäufers Primazon loben, der mir nach dem zweiten Mal selbst ein neues Exemplar geschickt hat.Der dritte Schirm war dann in Ordnung und hat sogar den Weg bei mäßigem Sturm heute (am 10.02) überlebt.Für den Preis also eine klare Empfehlung.

This looks a quality product online, however, anyone with attention to detail and an eye for quality will know it’s a poor to average umbrella. The stitching is frayed at various locations, I’ve had to take scissors to it, a matter of time before the stitching will part. The handle doesn’t feel solidly bonded to the shaft, I imagine they used as little glue as possible during the manufacturing process. I predict nothing more than a years use out of this umbrella before it has to be binned.

Er kommt wertig daher! Wie stabil er bei Wind dann aber wirklich ist… man weiß es nicht. Beim ersten Einsatz hatte es schon ordentlich bewegte Luft, aber.. was heißt denn sturmstabil?Kann ich ihn umdrehen und mit ihm davonsegeln? Ich wollte es nicht gleich beim ersten Mal ausprobieren, was passiert, wenn er vom Wind umgedreht wird.Einen Stern hab ich abgezogen, weil im “Innenleben” doch sehr viel Kunststoff verbaut ist.EDIT nach 8 Monaten: nach ausgiebigem Regen habe ich den Schirm nun denke ich ausgiebig getestet und würde ihn nicht mehr kaufen!- die Feder der Automatiköffnung schwächelt so langsam- die Bespannung hat zwei kleine Risse. Klar hatte der Schirm auch mal Kontakt mit Pflanzen. Ich bin mir aber keinem scharfkantigen Kontakt bewusst. Es mag sich um einen Anwenderfehler handeln. Mein alter Billigschirm hatte denselben Anwender und die Bespannung ist bis heute intakt.Der mir im Moment wichtigste Punkt nach Einsatz in heftigen Regenschauern:Es regnet durch! An der Schirmspitze dringt Regen durch und tropft dann ab – mittig befindet sich meist der Kopf und das finde ich aäusserst unangenehm, immer wieder dicke Tropfen auf den Kopf zu bekommen!FAZIT ich steige wieder auf einen Billigschirm um, der dann auch wieder ein paar Zentimeter mehr Durchmesser hat, denn die Unterschenkel werden im Regen mit diesem Schrim immer nass!Von den anfänglichen vier Sternen ziehe ich nochmals zwei ab!

Es wird mit besonders vielen Verstrebungen für eine gute Windfestigkeit geworben, jedoch sind die Streben sehr dünn und stark biegsam, weshalb trotz der hohen Anzahl an Streben, der Schirm nicht windfester ist als ein normaler Taschenschirm. Der Holzgriff sorgt für einen edlen Eindruck (es ist mit einer gewissen Maserung bzw. Leichten Rissähnlichen Strukturen zu rechnen.Der Schirm ist für jeden zu empfehlen, welcher einen sehr großen Schirm für normales Regenwetter braucht, jedoch ist der Schirm keinesfalls Sturmfest, selbst bei normalen Böhen würden ich den Schirm lieber drinnen lassen.

Für den Preis ist das ein ganz toller Schirm, der nicht nur schön aussieht, sondern auch hält was er im Wind verspricht.Es gibt einen kleinen Mangel. Der Griff ist so weich lackiert, dass er schnell zerkratzt wird. Das ist echt verwunderlich, weil die Metallspitze des Schirms sich als sehr robust herausgestellt hat. (Ein Schwachstelle vieler anderer Schirme, die ich mal hatte).Diesen Mangel habe ich beim zweiten Schirm nun selbst behoben. Ich besorgte mir kleines Flascherl vom günstigen Nagellack (ist ausreichend) und bepinselte den Griff des Schirms.Nun passt es.

Der Schirm ist stabil. 2 Leute passen gut darunter. Der Holzgriff ist etwas glatt, liegt gut in der Hand. Das Öffnen des Schirmes ist einfach (Automatik), will man ihn schließen muss man energsch ziehen oder am Ende direkt in die Streben greifen damit der Verschluß hörbar und sicher einrastet. Die mitgelieferte Schutzhülle hat ein Band mit dem der Schirm über der Schulter getragen werden kann (Band könnte etwas länger sein).4Sterne, weil sich das Schließen etwas “rustikal” ist.

Nach Jahren des Frusts über zu klapprige, zu kleine und zu schlecht verarbeitete Schirme habe ich für einen Onlinekauf entschieden. Mir waren beim Kauf 3 Dinge wichtig: Robustheit, die Größe und die Verarbeitung.Schirm kam überpünktlich und konnte direkt an Heiligabend ausgetestet werden, da wir gut Sturm hatten.Kein Wackeln und kein Umbiegen und dank der Größe passen auch gut 2 Personen drunter ohne dass man sich gegeneinander anlehnen muss. Öffnen und schließen geht einfach, man benötigt etwas Kraft, aber keine Hydraulikpresse.Die Verarbeitung ist Top, der Handlauf ist durch seine Machart sehr angenehm zu halten und trägt damit auch dazu bei dass man den Schirm nicht wie einen Drachen hinter sich her zieht. Das geringe Gewicht ist ebenfalls nicht zu merken und trägt zum Comfort bei.Als Gehstock kann man ihn benutzen auch wenn man etwas größer ist (1,90 Meter) aber in meinem Alter brauche ich noch keinen. Ansonsten kann man diesen Schirm weiterempfehlen.

Auf der Suche nach einem großen, schwarzen Schirm sind wir auf dieses Angebot gestoßen. Beim dritten Öffnen trennte sich der Schirm vom Stock. Royal Walk war wieder sehr höflich und hat alles daran gesetzt, einen neuen Schirm unversehrt in kürzester Zeit zu uns zu bringen. I was looking for a big and durable umbrella. I found this one, a bit pricy, but I always prefer to spend a bit more to have something that will last. In the first week of use I was really satisfied with it, nice size and looked like it had quality.I was wrong, today while I was opening it, it broke the top making it impossible to use.The lock in the handle started to shift making it hard to lock when closing it, the bottom piece disappeared (probably jumped while using the umbrella).In the end, I was able to put some super glue on the top part, but I don’t think it will last has the other parts are already breaking 🙁 .

First of all id like to point out that these umbrellas are well built and are very sturdy, that being said every now and again something will go wrong but its how the customer service deals with these issues that separates all the other competition.I recently purchased an umbrella that had a slight issue with the locking mechanism where it swivels making it fiddly to close, i emailed the seller and i was pleasantly surprised how helpful the customer service was. Firstly they was sorry i had the issue in the first place and then they offered advice how to fix the issue once i emailed them a picture, it was good advice but the problem still remained so they are sending me a new replacement free as stated on the 2 year warranty they offer.All in all a very positive experience from a quality company That’s left me feeling more than happy.

Update:Tatsächlich habe ich einen neuen Schirm zugesendet bekommen, dieser ist jetzt auch dicht. Daher jetzt volle PunkteSchöner großer Schirm, der leider beim ersten stärkeren Regen versagt hat. An allen Nähten kommt der Regen durch und man wird nass. Man soll innerhalb 3 Tagen einen neuen Schirm erhalten, wenn es Probleme gibt, dafür muß man aber erst die Garantie aktivieren. Ich bin ausgesprochen zufrieden mit dem Regenschirm. Er ist sehr belastbar, hält auch scharfen Windböen mühelos stand und fühlt sich gut an in der Hand. Die Kritik mancher anderer Nutzer, er sei zu schwer, kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Gemessen an seiner Größe und Robustheit finde ich ihn sogar leicht. Bin schon mehrmals über 45 Minuten mit dem aufgespannten Schirm herumgelaufen, während der Wind an ihm gezerrt hat, und musste noch nicht mal die Hand wechseln.

The one complaint was the cover /carry bag stitching came away after first time trying to put the umbrella in (the strap just came away). schirm wurde nicht mal verwendet, war kaputt beim 1. mal aufspannen, ein Teil flog davon und das wars dann. Es wurde darauf bestanden, den Schirm zurück zu schicken – super unpraktisch bei dem Teil, leider hatten wir den Karton nicht mehr.ich kann dieses Produkt nicht empfehlen, was schade ist, er wäre hübsch gewesen.

Naja, nach den rezensionen war ich gespannt. Die Spitze ist in der ersten woche abgefallen und nicht mehr auffindbar und dass, obwohl ich den schirm nicht als gehhilfe benutze. I have had many umbrellas in my 55 years on this wet planet but have owned and used the excellent Royal Walk 54” windproof umbrellas for the last 5 years. I currently own two of them. These windproof umbrellas are terrific – the best I have owned and I really cannot rate them highly enough.
54” is wide enough to very effectively protect my girlfriend and I from the very worst weather that the British Isles has to offer; they keep the rain off brilliantly – the first and primary duty of an umbrella. They are also extremely strong – certainly as “windproof” as they claim to be. In windy conditions that break normal umbrellas and/or turn them inside out these ones remain unperturbed. On a few occasions, I have struggled to hold onto the umbrella in extreme and unexpected gusts of wind but the Royal Walk umbrellas have stayed undamaged.
Royal Walk are also the only brand I have ever owned that excite “umbrella envy” in my friends, several of whom have bought them on my recommendation. I have owned one of the umbrellas for 5 years and used it extensively, and it looks as good now – whether furled or open – as it did when I received it. They are perfect for casual use or when wearing a suit on business or formal occasions.
In fact, I like these umbrellas so much that I have also owned two others – a total of four purchases – over the last few years. However, unfortunately I have lost these, in both cases by leaving them in pubs. In neither case was there any sign of them by the time I ‘phoned to reclaim them – I am sure that their new owners are enjoying the use of them, despite the dishonesty of their acquisition! These are attractive items and need to be looked after better than I sometimes have done.
I have also found out that Royal Walk’s customer service is also excellent, in the following way. Of the two Royal Walk umbrellas I still own, one has been broken for some months since I accidentally dropped it 30 feet down a stairwell in a flat I was temporarily living in in Rome. It landed plumb on its ferrule but when I picked it up it seemed fine and – having little need to use it in anger in summertime Italy – I thought little more about it at the time. However, when I finished my period in Rome and returned to the UK I realised that all was not well. The first time I went to use the umbrella it flapped about, and I saw then that parts had come off the umbrella in the fall. Last week I wrote to Royal Walk to explain this and to ask if they would send me replacement parts. They have very generously agreed to do this, and to waive the shipping charges for getting them from their factory in Bulgaria to me in the UK. The parts are on their way to me now.
A really excellent product and the best customer service – very highly recommended.
