   This umbrella is such great quality, but than what I expected for the price. The wooden handle also looks nice and opens/closes really sturdily. Not too big— can pack in a luggage bag for trips. Also, a nice bonus is that the cover that it comes with is also nice. I usually throw away these umbrella covers, but this one even has a zipper and helps secure the umbrella/helps make it compact.

   This umbrella is beautifully made and I bought it as a recommendation from a friend who has the same one. However, once I took the umbrella out of the package and held it by the little leather strap/handle, the ring connecting it to the umbrella snapped off and it fell to the floor and scratched the handle. Customer service was great though and addressed my concerns.

   I received my umbrella broken for starters. One of the veins was just hanging when I opened the umbrella which affected its functionality. I did however think the umbrella was much stronger in terms of durability but in the wind it felt like the umbrella was going to invert. The stick of the umbrella seems fairly sturdy. The handle has a comfortable fit in the hand. I find myself having to press the center of the button with enough force for the umbrella to actually open and close. Lastly, it takes alot of my strength to get the stick of the umbrella shortened.

   When first received about four months ago, I liked it though it was heavy. I chalked the weight up to sturdy build. The spring loading seemed high too, but again, I chaulked it up to solid build. Then about two months in, I noticed that when the spring sprang to open, the handle started to loosen. The screw on the handle does not tighten it to the rest of the umbrella — I tried. Then a few weeks ago, when I pressed the button to open, it came loose pinching my finger in the process and drawing blood. No big deal, but the umbrella could not be fixed.With that said, the sellers reached out to correct things immediatly and I recived a replacement right away. Time will tell, but the spring loading seems more compliant so hopefully the first one was a now-off issue.

   My wife and I have now been carrying one of the UV-protector ones (each) around the world for the last 3+ years. We purchased these to replace cheap ($5) light umbrellas that we had purchased in Soul, South Korea! The additional weight is well worth the toughness and capability.As soon as any friend of ours sees us use it, they ask where did we get it and then go ahead and order one? We have used them in very strong wind, such that the umbrella actually flipped! However, I was able to push it back the right-way w/o any damage.The only time that one broke was when we dropped it dead-center on its head (closed) on concrete. The little part on top broke and the impact also damaged the internal mechanism, such that my wife had a tough time using it (I could manage). The fault was ours. I’d love it if they’d replace the top piece w/ a rubber so that it can absorb such user errors!The trouble wasn’t wort keeping it so, I replaced it as soon as we got back to the US. I’d get another one once we break another one (due to our abuse)!Buy one!

   Arrived with one of the prongs not on the fabric. I didn’t want to be wasteful and ship it back, so I sewed it together by hand. The umbrella is sturdy, not 100% windproof (it does flip with very strong wind) but as sturdy as other good umbrellas I’ve had. If the hand stitching doesn’t hold up and that same prong gets loose again, I’ll contact the company for a replacement or refund.

    This is a solid umbrella. Let me start with the GOOD: it is large, not golf umbrella large, but close. It’s the largest retractable umbrella ive seen. i walked my dog with it and we both stayed dry. It seems well-made. The wooden handle is nice and has notches for your fingers, though, it’s not terribly comfortable in your hand after a long walk – it’s like trying to hold a a round ball in your hand, and would be better if it was a bit thinner. The windproof canopy helps though i havent used it yet on a terribly windy day. The auto open/close works well, and i havent encountered any of the issues ive seen reported here. The NOT SO GOOD: it’s relatively bouncy, meaning it almost seems that it doesnt completely lock into place when open…it doesnt collapse accidentally or anything it’s just a strange sensation. When you close the umbrella it collapses fine, but you have to push pretty hard against the spring to get it to lock into place fully closed. My biggest complaint is the strap on the handle. The loop is on the TOP of the handle which means its in the way of the handle or draped over your hand when holding it. Why not have it on the BOTTOM? It’s also too small to hang on anything other than a hook. I’d like to hang it on the back of a regular doorknob but the loop is too small for even that. I havent tried to fit my hand through it to have around my wrist when i use but i imagine that wouldnt be too comfortable either.All-in-all a solid umbrella that’s worth a little extra $.

    Is everything I expected. It’s large, seems to be of good quality and opens easily. Though it does open with a bit of force the handle is well designed to give you good hold on it so it stays in my hand well. I have arthritis so the good size handle with finger grooves is very comfortable. It is a bit tight to push it back together when closes but that’s very common, never had one that was easy to close. This isn’t any harder to close than any other I’ve had. Overall I’m very please with it and hope to get many years of use out of it.

    I really like this umbrella. I have had it for approximately 3 months and it still feels brand new, the cover is super high quality but I seldom use it because it’s more things to carry with me around. The wooden handle feels super high quality and the mechanism is perfect helps close the umbrella when getting into a vehicle quickly without getting too wet and helps open it up on the go. I also appreciate the wrist strap which helps carry and hold this wonderful umbrella, I will definitely be buying from them again, plus for the price this is an unbeatable steal.

    Love it, it’s large enough for 2, however it’s primarily for myself… I hate the other compact brands, although they keep your head dry, that’s all they do, this umbrella will definitely keep you dry exception being ankles and feet….The compactness is fine, easily fits into a back pack etc…The wooden handle is a nice style and grip I would recommend this umbrella for anyone.

    My previous umbrella can’t able to handle the heavy and winds and broke down into parts. I was looking for a durable and quality umbrella that can last for long. I am sure it can handle heavy winds/rains for sure. So far,I am satisfied with the quality, durability and size of the umbrella. Cool thing is it has open and close button so I don’t have to worry about and it comes with its cover as well.     This is a really nice umbrella.It is a heavy, heavy-duty, umbrella and when open has a nice large canopy.It comes with a small strap attached to the handle, which is nice, but it’s so small I don’t know what you could use it for unless you put your thumb through it, or hang it with in order to dry. I wish it was a bigger so you could put your wrist through it.The wooden handle could be a bit larger. It is molded slightly to fit in your palm and has shaped places for your fingers. I have large hands so it fells a bit small for me, but I have no problems holding it.I’ve not yet had strong winds, which we are sure to have here throughout the year.Still, those are just being picky.. I liked it so well I purchased two, one for each vehicle and would purchase this again if I needed another.

    Very good umbrella. I hate those cheap ones you by on the street. They are way too small and break too easy. This one is plenty big and it’s still collapsible. Good in the wind and if it blows inside out it goes back no problem. I put a carabiner on the end to hook it to my pants or the chair I’m sitting in. Don’t want this one to get stolen!

    This is my favorite umbrella ever, it has a nice weight to it (doubles as a baton/weapon), the cloth is thick, it resists turning inside out (it still does in very high winds, but that’s on physics), the handle feels nice, it has sprung out and in flawlessly for over a year, it’s large (accommodates more than one person or covers you and your belongings well)…I think that covers most of the pros! My only complaint is that the metal on the inside that makes the umbrella’s frame doesn’t seem to resist rust, which I imagine will be a problem in the future and mess with the mechanisms, but I’ll try to update this when it becomes an issue. That aside, this is an amazing gift, a fun umbrella to have, I definitely recommend buying, perhaps just towel off the insides to extend its life from the get-go.

    The original umbrella I ordered was the perfect size to keep me dry, had a very nice handle, and was easy to open and close. Easily the best umbrella I had owned up to that point. However, the stretchers started to rust after 3 months or so of frequent use, and after the umbrella overturned in heavy wind it began to have some trouble opening and closing.However, I contacted customer service and they sent me a replacement umbrella which has all the positives of the first umbrella and has so far held up very well. I even used it on a windy night and it did great. I am grateful to Minnie, the customer service representative. She was very helpful and polite. I’ll be sure to buy from this company again in the future.

    I was giving so much thought on what umbrella to purchase because I was fed up with cheaply made ones. I have a long walk to get to work and when it rains, it sets the tone for a miserable day. This umbrella was everything you need – easy and quick to assemble as all you have to do is push a button. While walking, the umbrella will bend with the wind instead of flipping completely inside-out which means less fighting with the umbrella! I was also worried the umbrella would be too big, but it’s actually the perfect size. The sleeve to put over the umbrella when not in use is super helpful because it is easy to slip on – unlike most other umbrellas. Finally, the material dries SO quickly, I am actually shocked!! This is also helpful when bringing a wet umbrella into an office setting – very helpful that it drys fast!The only “negative” thing I would have to say is that when you close the umbrella, due to the force it closes with, all of the water on top of the umbrella bounces off which has gotten me wet a few times. Not a huge deal, but a bit annoying when the point it to stay dry. You can avoid this by pointing the umbrella to the ground though.

Only thing that could improve it is an umbrella holster of a sort, I like keeping my hands free when it stops raining but don’t want to have to keep bringing my bag to store it in.8/8/18 updateLove the coverage and compact size but sadly I started noticing formations of droplets around the joint areas of the umbrella (most if not all), it would then proceed to wet my shirt.     I’m extremely disappointed in this product. I purchased it just last month to shield myself from the sun when going on short midday walks around my neighborhood.     INITIAL REVIEW:The strap on the side broke off after about one week. The part that connects the leather strap to the handle is very weak. The overall umbrella does not seem very sturdy and the core axis seems to wobble a lot as if the interlocking bars are not latching on tightly to each other which is visible when windy.Otherwise, it has a large coverage area and the ability to close after being inverted and then reopened are nice features.UPDATE (10/20/18): The company sent me a replacement and the strap is sturdier and the core frame is more stable in wind. Thank you for the replacement! It works great!

    **UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW:I am changing this review to 4 stars based on the excellent customer service that we received from this company. They have replaced our damaged umbrella free of charge. We would definitely buy from this company again knowing that they stand behind their products and believe in customer satisfaction.*** We bought this umbrella a little over a year ago and used it maybe a half dozen times during that time frame without any issue. However, it could seriously injured someone on the NYC subway this past weekend while vacationing there. The umbrella kept jamming when trying to collapse the handle rod and then out of nowhere it shot off like a rocket into a crowd of people waiting to catch the train. I’m glad no one was injured and that it didn’t shoot off onto the tracks.

    Almost everything about this product is great. It withstands fairly high wind gusts. It automatically opens and closes. It has a compact design. The holder is useful/functional.But . . .. . . after having used this four or five times a week for a month-plus in the PNW (where it rains quite a bit), a SERIOUS problem has developed. At several of the primary and secondary joints (the places where the umbrella folds at the primary and then secondary positions), there are clear signs of rust developing. This suggests issues with the quality of the metal being used. It also suggests the long-term durability of the product is in question. All of which is a problem for a product that is meant to be used . . . in the rain.So, buyer beware.If there were a way to contact the seller, I would. But there isn’t. Bummer. As I said, I like this product . . . except for the fact that it seems designed to fail when being used in the conditions for which it is designed.Buyer beware.

    Best umbrella I have ever had. Looks classy too. Only 1 flaw, and it is a bit annoying — the strap is difficult to use, possibly because it is like too short. After much use (not abuse), when the velcro strap becomes warn out, you may substitute it by using the otherwise useless sleve, to keep it wrapped up. I bought this umbrella mainly because it was one of the only ones that has a good sized handle. Almost all other umbrella handles seemed like they were for children or small women?

    I purchased the Lejorain 54 inch large umbrella just prior to going to Italy, and I knew I would run into some rain there. I liked the fact that the advertisement said it was light, folded up rather small, was golf umbrella size, and withstood wind gusts. I used it two days and it was fine except for the fact that the button to open and close it was difficult to push. On another day when it was rainy and windy, a gust of wind blew the umbrella to an inverted position as I have seen in cheap umbrellas. So I pushed it back to a position where it was open as a regular umbrella. When it stopped raining I tried to close it, but it would not close all the way by pushing the button. The company sent me a new umbrella when I returned from Italy. I respect the fact that they stood behind their product. I have had no problem with this umbrella that they sent me.

    Wanted it to be bigger. But it’s ok. It does it’s job. Hasn’t flipped up on me yet. The only flaw as far as I’m concerned is you really have to have something to push against when trying to close it up.     Get’s a 1 star because it broke on the first opening almost breaking a windshield I step out of the parking garage pop open the umbrella and the whole canopy shot off like a rocket and bounced off a Toyota’s windshield leaving an impact mark but no real damage, I do like the size of the opened umbrella so I’ll try it again they were quick to refund so I’ll give them another try.Follow up review I received my replacement and it works great, I gave it a dry run with several open and close operations and it was flawless, I was able to use it the other day and just like the dry run it preformed without a hitch, the teflon coating really works well just by closing it the rain gets knocked off almost completely and like I mentioned above I do like the size it opens to it handles well in the wind too. I would and have “recommend it to a friend”

    Not only did this umbrella last through our recent windstorm but it also kept us dry as well. There were a few times I had my 4 year old hold this while we were out and even she was able to hold it without being blown or the umbrella being blown out. When it’s times to fold it up, it folds down enough that if I wanted to, I could put it in my backpack purse, I chose not to because it was wet. However, when we did start to fold it down, the water just beaded off. We’ve had several days of rain and every time, I used this umbrella, there were no leaks coming through. No color running off or anything like that. Even with being left folded with some water trapped, I saw no signs or rust or discoloration in the metal wires. Looks great and is keeping us dry!

    After only using the umbrella once and shaking it off before sheathing it, I was surprised when the next time I used it there were rust stains on it but I couldn’t see any rust on any of the ribs. I’ve never had this happen with any umbrella I’ve owned. Fortunately the rust spots are only visible from the underside but not very happy about it. It works as described, it’s an umbrella.

    I’ve had this umbrella since Feb 2018 (it’s now Nov). This morning, I open it, but the Velcro re-caught and it didn’t open. I released the umbrella from it’s Velcro, but it wouldn’t open. I tried to close it by pressing the button, but it wouldn’t let me collapse the center rod and it wouldn’t stay open. I tried for 10 mins on the metro to fix it and finally threw it away. I couldn’t figure out what went wrong. I did purchase another one just now, but 9 months doesn’t seem to be a long time before it broke especially since it’s been very dry this summer.

    I haven’t had the opportunity to use this new umbrella yet, but initial impressions are very favorable. The handle is very comfortable and the construction is sturdy. The spring mechanism that opens it is very strong. Love the size of the umbrella! I have a feeling that it will become my “go to” umbrella, replacing the one I used to keep in my car for all those times I seem to get caught in a downpour.     We loved this umbrella for our trip to Europe. It served us well in pretty windy conditions. It was slightly tight for two people, but it’s about as big as you can get for folding this small.      In the three times I’ve used it since purchase, it’s handled heavy rain and winds without issue, and dried off quickly. I got tired of carrying a large non-folding umbrella around, and this folds to a convenient size and seems just as well made while still providing a canopy large enough to fit two people comfortably.      This is a very solid compact travel umbrella for daily sun protection. I don’t think you could build a better sun umbrella within these parameters.Sunscreen is nice, but getting close to the claimed SPF ratings requires applying sunscreen very thick and about every hour. Even then, American sunscreens, even those claiming to be “broad-spectrum” provide only a fraction of the UVA protection as the SPF rating on the label, which corresponds to UVB protection. Reducing your total sun exposure through a physical barrier is the best first line of defense again sun-damage and melanoma.This umbrella very well build and sturdy. It has a very good spring mechanism that’s never failed. Pressing the button when open collapses the umbrella, which you then need to push down to click into the base. It does require significant force to push the umbrella down, which might be an issue for a geriatric. The design does a fair job in the wind, though you are fighting physics trying to carry a dome-object through the air and may encounter significant air-resistance under moderately windy conditions.The fabric seems to block all light and I’m convinced blocks all UV light based on company claims. An odd design decision is the fact that the underside is a somewhat reflective silver- surely it was meant to go the other way around? I suppose it’s possible a few errant rays may bounce off of the pavement, bounce off the reflective silver and onto you, but I don’t think this will result in any meaningful sun exposure.The biggest reason not to buy the “compact travel” umbrella is the size. It’s a compact travel umbrella. It fits conveniently in a bag. It’s also not too large to walk with on busy city streets. But that silhouette can be a little hard to work with. I’m a broad shouldered, big male and find I need to adjust the hand I use based on the time of day to keep the shadow covering my arms. I also need to keep the umbrella tilted towards the sun or else one side of me will get baked. It’s not impossible to use, but it does require a bit extra of an effort. That said, given the tightness of busy sidewalks, I really wouldn’t want to deal with anything larger.If you DON’T need something to carry with you on busy sidewalks, I’d strongly encourage getting something golf-sized or larger.

However, I will add, there was one incident where the wind popped the umbrella backwards, however, it didn’t break and all I had to do was go against the direction of the wind for a second to pop it back in place.      This is a good-looking umbrella, primarily due to the nice wood handle, and I also purchased it for its ability to both auto-open and auto-close, which it does well…however, that’s where any positives end. The framework for the umbrella canopy is so flimsy that if there is any breeze at all during a rainstorm, it will cause the canopy to invert…and, since such breezes/winds typically occur during the heavier rainstorms, this is a critical design flaw. This inversion has happened to me in numerous rainstorms (which of course caused me to get soaking wet), and so I’m now searching for a better alternative. You’re better advised to spend your money on something sturdier, even if it may not be quite as stylish.

     This umbrella was my daily rain-blocker for my on-foot commute to work and back. Quick to deploy and stow, I had no major complaints about it besides the lanyard itself is awkwardly small (can’t put it around my hand to sit on my wrist) and the placement of it to begin with doesn’t leverage much utility besides putting only my thumb through the loop. Then last week Friday (3 days ago) a strong wind gust came along and blew into the underside of the umbrella just after I pressed the button in an attempt to stow it, which seemed to permanently make it impossible to stow or deploy, caught in umbrellimbo as it were.I contacted the seller about my issue and they immediately sent me a replacement unit. That arrived on Sunday (yesterday). So fantastic satisfaction from their warranty/service department!Other things I like about the umbrella:-as others have pointed out, the cover itself has a zipper along it to make it easy to access and stow the umbrella-coverage area of the umbrella is surprisingly high for a compact-form unit-handle feels solid-I have no problems with the spring action on it, the amount of force necessary to collapse it after pressing the release button is comparable to other compact automatic umbrellas I’ve used

     Bought 2 of these umbrella in 2018. Although we haven’t had much call to use them (we live in a desert clime), we take them with us when we travel in the event we run into rain. Whereas many umbrellas boast an auto-open feature, these umbrellas also have a push button close, which is a great feature! They are lightweight yet sturdy. During a recent rainstorm, I was glad to have my trusty umbrella with me while I ran errands. It worked like a charm the first open/close, but the next time I opened it, the ribs didn’t fully expand. I had registered both umbrellas with the company for the lifetime warranty, so contacted them & included a photo of the issue. What a response! They were Johnny-on-the-spot in their reply. The told me not to return the umbrella & they would be sending a replacement. The next day the replacement arrived! True Customer service is a rarity these days. How encouraging to know a company honors their warranties & stands behind their product. I hight recommend this umbrella for both quality & company integrity.

     Don’t get me wrong, this umbrella is probably one of the best umbrellas i’ve used before. Not only it hands SOME winds, but it closes automatically with a push of a button. But with every umbrella there’s always some caveats that bogs the item down. One of which its very lightweight, and that’s a positive and negative depending. Its lightweight meaning you can carry it in a bag and/or purse with no problem and you can hold on it very easily….the downside is pretty much what happened in a picture i took…in very strong winds the stem bends and if its bends to the point that you can’t snap the umbrella when you try to close it makes it hard to use.so now i have an umbrella that is bent due to very strong winds and its hard to close. so unfortunately i can’t give this a full 5 rather than a 3; the umbrella is very nice and easy to hold but it can’t stand up against stronger winds making it very easy to bend or nearly broken.

     I live in Arizona so I can count on one hand how many times I’ve used my umbrella since I’ve purchased it a couple of years ago. . . and I would still have fingers left over. This morning I awakened to rain! A joyous day to say the least and I was very excited to use my umbrella. I love the wooden handle btw. I pushed the button to open the umbrella and instantly noticed and heard something I didn’t anticipate and certainly didn’t want to hear. . . a broken plastic part of a hinge in one of the ribs. If I used this umbrella several times a year for a few days at a time then I think any reasonable person would expect an umbrella to wear out over time, but this is far from that scenario. Maybe I just got a bad umbrella. . . Can’t always go by reviews I guess. . .

     The umbrella started off great, it’s certainly wider than most similarly sized travel umbrellas and is able to withstand a few inversions and pop back into place fairly simply, but the shaft and mechanism that controls the open and close failed pretty quickly, failing well before the umbrella itself. After a couple of light uses the push button mechanism became quite finicky, and the umbrella had a difficult time extending all the way open and required a manual push. Closing the umbrella became increasingly difficult over the 10 uses, requiring more and more effort to compress the umbrella back into place. Last night while trying to close the umbrella the shaft of the umbrella rocketed off along with the spring (see picture) so that was basically the end of it.As other reviewers noted, the umbrella has a lot of nice features, but I fear the quality just isn’t there for the long haul (or when you really need it) and wasn’t as reliable as I would have hoped given the price.****************************Review Update – 10/28/2018The seller reached out to me to understand the issues I had with the umbrella and sent me a replacement immediately. I have had a chance to use it and it appears to be of better build quality than the original and will update in time if it (hopefully) holds up better.      Revising my review. As I suspected, vent feature is useless in the kind of wind we get around here. However, it may be impossible to make the vents open completely the way collapsing umbrellas have to fold. Anyway, I’m adding a star because it flipped over twice yesterday in my wind test (weather service said we were getting 40 MPH gusts, but I think it took 25 to flip it). But I hit the button to close it, it released, and appears to be fine. So, it’s a very sturdy umbrella.Original review:I hate the auto close feature you can’t get away from now. It makes the umbrella heavier and the button is usually right under your hand where disaster is just a squeeze away as you dash across a street in a downpour. What sold this one is the button is out of the way up above the handle. Still, the umbrella is heavier than is needs to be. And the upper or middle sheet of the canopy is firmly attached to the ribs, unlike some other vented umbrellas. We’ll see what happens in the stiff winds of western New York state. All that said, it is well made and functions well. And the handle is sensible.

     I really like this umbrella- it’s the perfect size to carry but large enough to provide ample coverage. It has a button to automatically extend and expand and the same button allows it to also contract when closing it. The sleeve has a zipper which helps immensely with putting it away. I usually leave my umbrella in the car because of how cumbersome larger umbrellas tend to be but now I can carry it in my purse (albeit only if I’m carrying a larger purse).      Here is what you need to know!The compact umbrella is a gem for its rapid open and close feature – it is just not ideal for trying to get in and out of a car. The mechanism requires that you physically push the closed canopy back down into the base before it resets. I shared my dismay (see below) with the company and they immediately reached out to me and offered a differently designed, reverse closing canopy umbrella – this one is PERFECT for getting into and out of the car – it requires that the canopy be manually closed but that is ok since the water stays captured in the umbrella. It drys quickly when I get to wherever I am going and open the canopy so that it may dry.I hope that this information helps any of you prospective buyers. These are nice umbrellas and a great little company.Thank you so much for great and responsive customer service.For reference – two pictures on left are of the full canopy reverse closing umbrella – good for dry escapes into cars or on buses. The two pictures on the right are of the compact travel umbrella – both are windproof.Ok this was my initial review . . . This is a good sturdy umbrella but it is unreasonably hard to close and the movement is not smooth. I miss my old standard totes umbrella. It’ll do for now.      It was raining heavy and the wind was blowing so I decided to use the umbrella. As I walked through the streets, it could not stay in place. The umbrella turned inside out. I would say they designed the bridges weak. If the rain is heavy, the umbrella will not be able to cover your shoes or lower area of your pants (it gets wet) especially if you’re a taller person. I recommend buying another umbrella.update: This umbrella isn’t even 6months old and there is rust on it. Don’t buy it. An umbrella needs to form a lower canopy so wind doesn’t get in to flip it inside out.update 2: Although the umbrella isn’t the best quality, you can ask for a replacement under their warranty. two more stars for good customer service :D.

     As noted elsewhere, this umbrella is big. It will easily accommodate 2 (my wife and I fit easily, even in heavy rain). The automatic open/close mechanism works great, but it seems there is no manual mode, i.e. that using the button is necessary, for both opening and closing. I tried to close it manually at first, and it got stuck between open and closed positions. I figured it out pretty fast, but that is a consideration, though like I say, the automatic mechanism works flawlessly. The structure seems very sturdy, which no doubt accounts for it being a bit on the heavy side, but I like to feel like my stuff won’t fail, and this item is solid. Even the fabric is heavy-weight, compared with most hand-held umbrellas I ever knew. This is a great umbrella, especially at this price! Recommended.

     I love the size – very practical.The button can be difficult to locate without looking. I leave home for work well before dawn, and trying to find the button in the dark, in the rain, and with a bag hanging off my arm is very irritating.The “spring” mechanism is an elastic band. I find it difficult to understand why use long lasting materials for the canopy and such a short-living mechanism. My previous umbrella with an elastic started to jam after 2 months of a rainy season. What happened to the steel springs?I would like to see a hooked handle for easy hanging off of something, or finding the mechanism button. without having to look.

     My wife was carrying this tiny little umbrella around with her to work and, although it was small and convenient for her, it simply wasn’t big enough to deal with our Florida daily storms, especially if another person tried to get under it with her.      Wow. This is actually a really great umbrella. It is one of the biggest ones I’ve found with a collapsible handle, only my giant golf umbrella (which doesn’t collapse) is bigger, and it will even recover from being blown inside out. My only – very minor – quibble is it’s open/close mechanism is housed inside a pretty large wooden handle at the base. So it’s total collapsed length is a bit longer than I want for something I’d hoped to keep stashed in my purse (it only fits at an angle), and the total weight is also about double what I’d have expected based on my other portable umbrella. That said, it’s very high quality and I’m quite happy with my purchase.

     I used this umbrella for the first time yesterday. At first everything was great but then with slight winds things started going wrong.First I noticed the handle is a little wobbly. It’s hard to hold the umbrella in a straight position with a little wind. Not a big deal I just rested it on my shoulder.It was a bigger deal than I thought. With the umbrella angled a little more because it was on my shoulder, the wind started to push the second joint down. It held, but looked incredibly stressful on the arms. So I tilted the umbrella the other way to let the wind vent through the double canopy.This was a mistake. The umbrella almost immediately flipped inside out. These were 5-10mph winds. I had to collapse the canopy and push it completely closed in order to open it again.I really wanted to like this umbrella. It’s by far the largest canopy I could find in a travel size umbrella.Pros-compact size-largest canopy in its class-teflon coating dries in just a few minutes-release button makes it easy to open from a car-lightweightCons-can only be used when there’s no wind-handle is wobbly-if it flips inside out you have to stand there in the rain until you can close and open it again.-hard to open with slight wind, if you’re opening it and facing the wind you have to manually help it open after pushing the button because it’s not strong enough to overcome on it’s own.I’m still on the fence as to whether I will return this or not. Despite it’s shortcomings it may be worth it to keep as a backup.

     I ordered the red and the color is so rich and beautiful. This umbrella is very strong. I was in the wind and I did not see the air go through the air slits but the structure was very strong to hold the umbrella open. This is a very large umbrella. Two people can easily walk under it. Feels so nice and sturdy. Most of my umbrellas have been very cheap. I like the feel of sturdy. It is a little bigger around than the cheaper, smaller ones. Dries quickly. When you press the button the umbrella quickly opens up full. It is fun to open but to close not so much. Again you press the button and the umbrella quickly closes which is very nice but then you have to press very hard to close. It won’t open unless it is completely closed. Does take effort to close it. Not crazy about that feature but all in all I would buy again and would recommend to a friend. I love my umbrella. There are so many styles now. When I close it I just shake the water off and it becomes quite water free at this point to roll up and stick in my purse. Love it.

Two days later i found that the top was broke and it wouldnt close. I would say within 2-3 days i had a replacement umbrella and I’ve really tested the crap out of it. So far its been great!      Works great for me — been using it for many months in windy, rainy New England. I’m a little tall, so small umbrellas don’t work well for me. With a single push of the button the whole very broad umbrella pops open — and with another push of the button the top folds in and allows me to push down on the top of the shaft with one hand (as per the instructions) to compress the shaft. The umbrella opens in fraction of a second and closes in 2 to 3 seconds. It has worked well on a couple of windy days when I held it at the correct angle. It’s of course heavier and bulkier than teensy folding umbrellas, but it fits easily in my day pack and keeps me drier than any other folding umbrella I’ve used.

     I am not sure it will hold against strong wind because I’ve not experienced that yet. It is a pretty color, which is what drew me in to begin with. It is a nightmare, however, to fold it back and put it in it’s little carry case. All in all I was expecting it to be a much bigger umbrella in terms of coverage.      This is my third EEZY Wind Resistant Umbrella. I live in the Pacific Northwest and use public transportation daily for work. I fell in love with my first, hot pink EEZY. The umbrella saw me through wind, rain and snow while keeping me dry, no matter what weather threw at it. I lost umbrella number one and had to have a replacement. I purchased number two, bright yellow, in November of 2017.Number two continued to keep me dry and would receive frequent compliments on the bright and cheery color. During a particularly nasty storm number two turned inside out. The tall buildings by my office create super wind tunnels. This was not the first time the umbrella turned inside out. In the past I only had to flip it back and go on my way. Imagine my dismay when I realized one of the rivets on a rib had popped out. Poor little thing, the rib would pop back into place, but couldn’t keep its shape in the wind.I was skeptical about the lifetime warranty but decided to give it a try before buying umbrella number three.I sent an email to the company. They responded promptly, requested a picture of the problem. Picture sent and less than a week later, number three, another bright yellow, was delivered.Yahoo!Thank you EEZY for standing behind your most excellent umbrellas.

     I bought this umbrella hoping for a compact but large canopy umbrella. I thought that push button open AND close would be good. I like the large canopy that kept me and my bag dry. But I was disappointed on several points: 1) umbrella is rather heavy, 2) handle is short so umbrella is top heavy and not well balanced 3) I have to turn umbrella with difficulty in my hand (or use 2 hands) in order to line up my thumb with the push button 4) tie down strap is just barely long enough to close around closed canopy when it is DRY and is a struggle to close when it is WET (especially since I have small hands and it’s difficult to get my fingers around the closed wet canopy) 5) pushing the button to open requires quite a bit of thumb strength 6) push button close requires 2 steps: push button to close canopy then both hands are required to compress the handle toward the canopy to collapse the spring-driven shaft UNTIL IT CLICKS FIRMLY. Otherwise, the shaft will pop open again and the umbrella cannot be opened or closed further with the push button. I have gotten soaking wet so many times getting into my car in the 2 1/2 months I’ve had this umbrella. The final straw was when it was pouring rain and I held the umbrella up as I got out of my car, pushed the button and the canopy and the top half of the shaft and spring shot out about 20 feet across the parking lot leaving me holding the bottom half of the shaft and handle in my hand. It is now totally useless with the spring hanging out. I noticed other buyers have had similar experience. I would prefer an umbrella that I can easily open and manage with one hand. Would not buy it again.

     The umbrella performs as advertised. It looked well constructed when i first opened it and it felt hefty, suggesting it was well constructed. So far it has stood up to strong winds without issue. I recently appreciated I had this umbrella compared to the typical light collapsible umbrellas most were using. Their umbrellas clearly had seen better days because of the wind. The umbrella recently turned inside out because of the wind, but went back to normal without worse for wear. The canopy is much larger than typical folding umbrellas, which helps protect against the rain, especially if you are carrying an over-the-shoulder satchel or similar bag.

     TL;DR: good for basic rain and winds under 10 mph, but over that, grab a smaller more wind-worthy umbrella.This umbrella is a happy medium between portable and sizable so it comfortably covers a backpack or purse from the rain. The umbrella itself seems to be constructed just fine (except for wind). The release button works both for opening and closing, which is nice. The material itself seems to be durable enough for rain. I do wish the strap loop was a little larger to more easily fit around the wrist, considering the length of the umbrella when folded.The biggest issue with the umbrella is that it does not withstand winds that are around 10-15 mph. It is mostly due to the physics of the umbrella–the center pole is not sturdy/reinforced enough to stabilize the umbrella considering the breadth of the umbrella cover. This means that it wobbles in the wind, and if you tilt it slightly in the wrong direction, the wind will absolutely turn it inside out. Facing it against stronger 15-20 mph winds means the wind will basically fold the umbrella for you, so you will be walking against the wind with a folded umbrella around your face.      This is a big (when opened; otherwise very compact), sturdy, and great quality product. It dries really quick and has a button to open and close the umbrella. Also, I like the wooden handle–premium finish and hence an elegant look. All that said, this product deserve 5 stars. Nonetheless, one other thing that compelled me to rate this 5 stars is customer service. This seller is very serious about consumer satisfaction–I have not seen any other seller with so much commitment. I was facing a little problem with the umbrella and asked the seller about it. With my complete surprise, the seller sent me a new one.

     Summary: I bought both the EEZ-Y Compact Travel Umbrella and Crown Coast Umbrella. After comparing them both I am returning the EEZ-Y from personal preference though make no mistake there is nothing wrong with it.Pro:Definitely large enough to fit two people underVery sturdy, the Crown isn’t as sturdy in the center piece that when you spin the handle the top piece will then follow, but the EEZ-Y when spun will spin all together which I find makes it sturdySlight Cons:It’s heavier than the Crown at the base which is a plus or con but that depends on preference. A heavier base might make it more sturdy in higher winds, but I haven’t tested it in high winds yet eitherThe button requires a bit more pressure than the Crown to automatically closeConclusion: I don’t use umbrellas often, so I’m not really requiring something heavy duty making the slight heaviness take this umbrella out of consideration. Unless i’m carrying my laptop in hand I won’t take the umbrella out anyways. I’ve tried this in the rain and it’s worked perfectly the vents make way for the air and the fabric repelled the rain droplets perfectly fine as an umbrella should. When I turned it inside out it was a bit difficult to reverse it back, so i’m not sure if that’s a pro or con. There’s obviously no problem with the umbrella itself, but it just goes by personal preference for me.

     I have only had my umbrella for a few days, but so far it works great! I travel quite a bit and am on the road more than 50% of the time. Because I travel so much a very compact umbrella is important to me. The EEZ-Y is lightweight and compact. It fits in my backpack, or my suitcase, without taking up too much room.A golf umbrella is really good for providing a large footprint and keeping the rain off of you, but they aren’t exactly small and don’t pack well. The footprint of the EEZ-Y is significantly smaller comparatively, but it’s perfect for walking the crowded streets of NYC when it’s raining without hitting all of the other umbrellas on the sidewalk. You might be able to squeeze two people under it as long as you both don’t mind getting a little wet, and you really like each other. Otherwise, for me, it’s just about perfect.I read several reviews where people complained that they could only get a few fingers on the handle. It is definitely a small, nubby handle. If you have big hands, you won’t be able to get more than two or three fingers on it. I have fairly normal-sized hands and I can grip it with my thumb and three fingers no problem. The grip is also rubbery and provides plenty of leverage and grip to stabilize the umbrella. However, if you want a larger grip you may want to look at a different sized umbrella. Again, I was going for something that is compact.The one-touch button for opening and closing the umbrella works just fine. Keep in mind that when you close the umbrella that it doesn’t fold all the way back down. The button will close the canopy, and then you must manually collapse the umbrella. This is under tension, but unless you have problems with arthritis or some other physical disability this shouldn’t be an issue. You could even push it into the floor if it was too difficult, but I don’t find it to be an issue.I also have been amazed at EEZ-Y’s customer service! When I registered my umbrella I made a note that I thought the color was a bit off, and that the grey looked a bit too green. EEZ-Y promptly arranged to have the umbrella replaced with a different color – without me asking! They have been extremely polite and responsive to emails throughout the process. Top notch customer service!Other than the grey color being slightly off I have yet to find any faults with the construction, materials, or operation of the umbrella.So far, I am really enjoying the umbrella and the service offered by EEZ-Y. I would definitely recommend this to someone!

     For almost 30 years I carried a Brookstone brand umbrella. It was built like a tank but was light and folded to 18″ in spite of having a 56 inch arc. Recently I backed my golf cart over it and, because Brookstone is a shell of itself, I couldn’t replace the umbrella. After an incredible amount of searching, I found this umbrella. It is almost as big as my Brookstone and folds to under 16″. It seems to be almost as sturdy as the Brookstone and it opens and closes at the push of a button. It is very nice-looking with its wooden handle and blue fabric. I tried it with wind gusts and it hasn’t inverted and I like the water repellency. My old umbrella would soak up water like a sponge and take several hours to dry. This one is dry in less than an hour. I also like the double folding that makes it easier to hold above my car door to open and to close.Pros: – size, both open and closed – attractive looking – seeming to resist wind – the cover is very nice with its zipperCons: – The handle looks good but is too slippery (rubber would be better) – It is a little heavier than the umbrella it replaced – it is “fatter” than my last umbrella and much harder to strap closed

     This seems to be a well made umbrella. Very heavy compared to some of the new composite frame umbrellas on the marker, this is ok for me. Heavy makes me feel like it is sturdy. The overall look of the umbrella is masculine with the wood handle. The split design helps resist flipping inside out in the wind. Easy to open and close. I highly recommend this umbrella.

     Can’t comment on longevity yet but seems very well made and sturdy. However it’s super heavy! Probably 3x the weight of my old umbrella of the same open size. About 1” longer when collapsed too. Would definitely affect you carrying around a lot or in a bag it’s going to weigh you down some. Seems silly, but that was my first “oh wow” impression. It’s one I’ll probably leave in the car for use on a short jaunt in somewhere but maybe not carry 1/2 mile from work parking lot to my office on a cloudy day. Weights more then my laptop I think.

     This umbrella is fairly great for everyday use. Big and spacious beneath it. It holds up well during windy conditions, and rainy conditions. One of its ribs broke recently, and the umbrella is not able to hold up well during rainy days.The steel frame of this umbrella is also not stainless steel. The rust came on after folding up the umbrella and packed in its little pouch. The rust was only found after one night of being packed while being wet.

     I purchase 2 Lejorain 54inch Umbrella, one for each car. I open the box at my office and push the button and the umbrella open and closed and it was OK. I have not use it yet during the rain storm. I push the button on the Second Umbrella and top flew across the room and the spring fell out of the handle and hit the floor.      This umbrella is larger in size compared to most other folding ones. And it has ventilated double canopy so I thought this would be perfect for windy weather in Chicago. However, at the center of the umbrella where the canopy and shaft joins, it started to rust. I think there was a small leak that was coming through. I contacted the company and they first gave me an instruction to tighten the joining area. But when i checked, everything was tight and there was nothing to adjust.      Great umbrella started off fine. Noticed lately that it no longer holds its taught shape and started to sag a bit. A bit more flimsy and loose. The velcro didn’t last a week during rainy season when I had to keep closing it and packing it away as I got on a train. NO lifetime warranty although it was guaranteed. Even though I let the umbrella dry, it still managed to mildew/rust a bit.

I live in FL where it rains almost every afternoon so I’ve used this umbrella a lot, it’s great! I like that it folds to be compact, it fits under my car’s seat and in my tote bag while out. The wrist holder is not big enough to fit a hand through though. However this is the best compact “golf” umbrella I’ve owned.

     I’ve had this umbrella for about a year, used it maybe once every couple of months. I really like the handle, has a nice feel and look to it. What I don’t like is the button placement for the umbrella, I’ve accidentally closed it a few times because the button is directly on the handle portion so if you grip the umbrella too tightly you risk closing it.Today my umbrella broke…. it’s a rather windy day and my umbrella popped inside out a few times. Every time it inverted it was harder to close until finally I couldn’t close it anymore. I struggled for a good 5 minutes trying to close it or even pull it back open again, but some homeless people laughed at me struggling with my umbrella until I finally gave in and shoved into a nearby trashcan.All in all I am going to look for a sturdier umbrella. The automatic open and close function really wasn’t that impressive. 3/5 rating.

     Haven’t had a chance to use this out in the rain yet or in the sun. But the size is indeed what I was looking for as it will fit into the very small side pocket of my purse as my emergency umbrella (for when I forget to check the weather and get caught in the rain). Opens really well and do mind the morning they give you about how fast it opens. Close as easily as well. The design mirrors what I have in my dustbuster umbrellas so it does look like it will deal with wind well. I think I can also use it in the sun, which will be a nice secondary use for it.

     Update: CS took care of me by being responsive and promptly sending a replacement. I hope the replacement will last far longer and be made of better quality.I bought this umbrella less than a year ago and one of the supporting metals just broke 15 mins ago.Obviously, I am disappointed as one would expect 20 bucks something umbrella to last more than a year. While it lasted, it seemed sturdy as it has nice weigh to it but it didn’t last.Trying to get a replacement under their lifetime warranty but they have no website or exchange option being no longer there from Amazon, I’m puzzled what good lifetime warranty is for if I cannot reach the maker/seller.

     I have been looking for a good compact umbrella with wide coverage and venting for many years that can stand up to the weather.This is not it.Pros:• It has wide coverage and is compact• Presents well, nice design and feel… That’s it unless being water proof as it should be counts as a pro, but I don’t think they get points for just being an umbrella.Cons:. This is where it shines…• First time using it was in a standard windy day in NYC, as soon as the wind got up underneath, this thing flipped inside with less resistance than a $5 Duane Reade generic umbrella. To exaggerate slightly I think a mouse fart could flip this inside out. I understand the instructions say to keep it facing wind, but the vents should help if that can’t always be done. After the failure I tested inside, if you pull down or back fast enough you don’t even need wind.In short this umbrella is for no wind days where rain is falling straight down only.• adding further to it’s failings, the handle rattles slightly and feels poorly attached to the rod.• small handle for some handsI would not buy this umbrella and will be seeking a return. It needs a lot more support and I would sacrifice some of it’s compact size to gain the sturdiness.

     This umbrella is great because while it is portable, it also open up wide to provide enough shade against rain coming down sideways. I’m not sure why other umbrellas only cover your head but this keeps me and my backpack covered during my commute so I don’t end up at work with my pants drenched. The auto open/close feature is a bonus. The handle is sturdy wood and a good size of a guy’s hand (not dinky like others). The sleeve is also re-usable because it has a zipper unlike others that you take off and then you can never get the umbrella back in the sleeve again. Hopefully this umbrella lasts!

     It doesn’t rain often in Texas, but when it does it pours. Today is July 4th 2018 and it started raining during the fireworks show. Naturally, I decided to use my Lejorain umbrella. I pressed the button to deploy the umbrella and instead of opening, it seperated from the rod and went flying down the bleachers hitting a bystander in the head. See attached photo of umbrella.I Purchased the Lejorain in February 2018, but opened and used it for the first time today. Unfortunately, I have exceeded the Amazon return window and I am now stuck with a broken umbrella.The umbrella does looks nice, but I can not recommend due to poor build quality. Save your money and look elsewhere.**Update***The seller contacted me to provide a replacement umbrella. Fit and finish appear to be better than the previous one I purchased, but I’m unable to comment on performance or long term use. Updating to 3 stars.

I received it in good condition, and I really like it so far! One of my favorite features is that is stands up against strong wind gusts (my old one would turn itself inside out whenever wind hit). I also like the auto open/close feature, with the ergonomically shaped handle that is easy to hold.      After using a few times is already broken.Bad quality don’t buy!UPDATE!!This number was given to me by costumer service. This is the number that Amazon has for them. It is a number for paint and auto parts! If I could give them a ZERO I would.Update again! I decided to buy another umbrella and give the company the benefit of the doubt. On the first downpour we had here the umbrella broke becoming useless. Four ribs broke and the umbrella turned inside out snapping a couple of other ribs. Rain was coming down hard and my boots took in lots of water damaging them. I am extremely upset about this. These people either have not used the umbrella enough or they have been bought somehow. Do not buy!!

     This is absolutely the best umbrella I’ve ever owned. When closed it’s compact and easy to fit in a bag/purse; when opened it can easily cover two people. The framework is much stronger than I expected. Love the open/close button!!!! Getting in and out of car with it is a breeze. The cover is also very well made and has a convenient zipper to make it easier to put it on. I love that there is a double canopy to let the wind through w/o turning the umbrella inside out. In the event that it does turn inside out you simply push the button and the umbrella retracts/closes immediately. (Tried it and it works without breaking!!!!!) Seriously though, buy this umbrella.

     I’ve had this umbrella in my bookbag for the longest. I loved the handle because it looked very quality. However, the real test came on a rainy day. The umbrella worked fine until it was time to put it away in order to get on the bus. It just wouldn’t close. I pressed the close button over and over again, but nothing happened. So in order for me to get in the bus, I decided to pull it close. The rod bent like nobody’s business. So I had to throw away the thing since people were already laughing at me trying to close an umbrella so I can get on the bus. Got to my stop and had to walk home in the pouring rain without an umbrella. I couldn’t get 1 complete use of the umbrella. Very disappointed.Update (08/04/2018)After leaving my review, i was contracted by the company and they explained to me that the umbrella wasn’t designed to close manually.They decided to send me another. It was raining heavily when it arrived and i decided to use the replacement umbrella. It worked beautifully. I like the Umbrella because it fits well in my bag and when i use it, it’s much bigger than regular pocket sized umbrellas.Yes, the issue i had was a user error and not the product itself. I intend to buy another one shortly.

     I’ve never used an umbrella this large, so I have nothing to compare it to, but my first impression is that it’s VERY HEAVY. My arm and wrist started getting tired after using it for just a short while (I’m an adult woman with average strength). And although the umbrella collapses by just pressing the button, you need to push the handle down yourself and it takes a bit of strength (I have to hold one end against my stomach and use both hands to push it in).That being said, it’s a pretty good umbrella. The large size is great, but takes a bit of getting used to. It’s sometimes tricky not bumping into things and it takes up quite a bit of floor space when leaving it open to dry out (but that would be the case with any large size umbrella). The push button works great for quickly popping the umbrella open. While the umbrella seems pretty strong, it’s definitely not windproof. We had mildly high winds today and it flipped on me twice. It works the way an umbrella should, but if I had to do it again, I might try to find something lighter.

     I bought this umbrella to combat the rainy season where I live. The first rain of the season hit and as soon as I opened the umbrella, a slight gust of wind inverted the canopy and that was it. Five seconds tops! There is a string supported mechanism inside that keep the canopy open. This string is now hanging from the runner and the shaft is curved like a banana. I’m highly disappointed, as this was a really good looking umbrella and just the right size.

     I have only had to use this for minor rain until this past Saturday where we had forty mile per hour wind and driving rain. I needed both a rain coat and this. Now, I just walked across a large parking lot first to the post office and then to get a chai tea and it held up even when I had that awkward experience of no hands for a minute or two.A tip, though, I have this habit of leaving the umbrella extended when I put it in my passenger seat. The button to have the umbrella be an umbrella doesn’t seem to work then. I just have to remember to un extend the umbrella when I get in the car.Also, I got the white one with black polka dots, its so pretty.

     I really love that this is a larger umbrella that still folds. It’s size does an awesome job at keeping the rain off of me and my backpack. I also love that it comes with an umbrella sleeve, which makes tucking the umbrella in a sidepocket of my backpack very convenient, instead of having to hold it in my hand and worry about getting myself or my items wet when I’m finished using the umbrella. It’s got a nice strong wooden handle and the open/close button allows the umbrella to easily open and close. I got the yellow umbrella, and really love how bright and colorful it is, despite the gloomy weather. Lifts my spirits a bit. It’s the little things…I’ve used the umbrella in torrential rains and it’s protected me well. No complaints with quality or performance. My one fault is that I initially didn’t always remember to use up/down button and tried to close the umbrella by manually pulling down the cover while the umbrella was open, (like I’m used to with my older umbrellas). It caused some of the spokes of the umbrella to bend, making it harder to open and close the umbrella. However, these umbrellas come with EXCELLENT warranty and customer service. I was able to send an email directly to the company and was sent a new umbrella immediately. I’m one very satisfied customer!

     I originally bought two of these umbrellas about a year ago. I wanted to purchase a couple of good, durable wind proof umbrellas when I originally made the purchase. One has had no problems at all, the other came apart after about a year, with the stem separating from the main part of the umbrella, when I activated the “retract” button. I contacted the manufacturer and told them about the problem and they replaced the umbrella after I submitted order ID information, a description of the problem and a picture of the problem. I still feel like this is a quality umbrella, even though one suffered a failure. I am not concerned about the replacement, because I understand that sometimes things can get past quality control. They are very nice umbrellas, and seem to be well constructed, and I expect them to last a long time, and I recommend them, especially since the manufacturer stands behind their product. Thank you Lejorain for a good customer service experience, and a good product.

     I changed my review since I got response from the company. As I stated previously I like everything about this umbrella. It is very large and very well made. Handle is really nice with indents for the fingers. It opens and closes fine and storage sleeve has nice plastic zipper making it easier to slide in. It also appears that company responds to email (with small delay caused by Chinese Spring Festival).

     This is my second EEZY traveling umbrella, and I absolutely love them. I used to buy those cheap retail store umbrellas that would last one windy storm before breaking. My first EEZY Travelling Umbrella lasted 2-3 years, and I was so impressed that I decided to pay for another one rather than looking into the warranty available. I feel like I definitely got my money’s worth.

     I’m updating my review as the company contacted me and is sending a replacement umbrella. They were very interested in understanding what happened to try to improve. I’m impressed by their customer service and hope the replacement umbrella holds up longer.I’ve had this umbrella less than a year and have probably used it 10 times. Today, when opening it, the top flew off the handle and it’s no longer usable. I saw at least one other review with the same problem. The umbrella provides good coverage and I was liking it quite a bit until it fell apart. I expected it to last more than 10 uses. Very disappointed.

     This is an excellent, if a bit small-ish (described “Compact”, after all) umbrella ideal for those who commute or carry a purse. After years of going thru cheap ones sold at a pharmacy, I finally looked for something better and found this back in Spring ’15. As described here, it is quite compact and folds down to a slim form roughly a foot long. One drawback of this design is that you push the button to both open and close the umbrella; I am no engineer but each time this “clicks” it seems to place stress on the integrity of the structure. That said, it works well and should last at least a year or two so long as you take basic care like trying to avoid severe wind on your back. My umbrella survived two years and probably ~100 days of use under varying environments including a few strong windy days. Then I finally caught a swirl that broke some of the canopy frame.And this is where this earned the fifth star: Usually I’d have thrown it out but –almost on a whim– decided to test EEZ-Y’s “LIFETIME GUARANTEE.” The support staff replied immediately and after a quick email exchange (including a couple photos of the broken parts) a brand new umbrella was delivered in the same week. I am satisfied with the purchase and even more impressed that the company stands by their promise.tl;dr – Good compact umbrella with fantastic customer support. Highly recommended.

     This umbrella just broke on me. Pushed the button and the whole mechanism popped out. The button no longer works and the umbrella does not stay open. Even before when the umbrella was working it was very difficult to close it all the way. Needless to say will not be purchasing again.*** UPDATE ***I wanted to update this review with the response from the product manufacturer. They contacted me to offer a replacement umbrella. I am impressed with that level of service. I have received the new umbrella and will update this review again after I have a chance to use it a few times.** UPDATE #2 **I have used the replacement umbrella several times in a couple of New York winter storms and I’m happy to report that the umbrella has so far performed admirably. I’m hoping my previous experience was just a one-off issue. I do really like the combination of the size of this umbrella with the auto open feature and the ergonomic handle.

     This umbrella is great! We used it for a Susan G. Koman Walk/run for the cure. It was super compact and easy to carry when folded. And covered all of us when opened. We have quite a few relatives and colleagues that golf and I think they are going to be pleasantly surprised when they are given these as gifts for the holidays!

     After losing one umbrella too many to the weather, I gave these a try, and now I own three, one for my home, one for the car, and one for the office. The first I bought lasted five years in all kinds of East Coast storms, though I lost it during my latest move. Hope the two new ones last me many years to come.
